The following is a small list of 10 celebrities who were brave enough to express their unpopular feelings about the pro-Zimmerman verdict. In this list you will find some of the personalities you'd expect to see, but also some that many would say "came out of left field." This slideshow also includes some of the commentary each one of these celebrities used to justify their opinions. Facebook Takes on Twitter by Courting Celebrities, Building Twittery Tools

Celebrities give us insight on how to dress, what workout we should be doing, enlighten us with wisdom on current events and, of course, they're also always willing to give us their opinion on haute cuisine. But even with all their wealth, status and cultural importance, celebrities are beckoned by the same siren song of burgers and pizza that us plebeians also dance to. No amount of fame immunizes us from the feeling that a great slice of pizza is the only way to regain equilibrium after an exhausting day. Our icons of sport, screen and music live a life that's hard to relate to, so it makes them seem more accessible to know they too have opinions on pizza and Kim Kardashian burgers; two foods that make periodic appearances in many of our lives. To some, Giudices on-screen persona (and viewers fascination with it) contributes not only to her off-screen troubles, but to the slow, steady decline of morality in America. Could it be that just the opposite is true? Our revulsion with the likes of Weiner, our rage at steroid http://zambmidessa.blogtrue.com cheats such as Braun even as we tolerate fictional sinners like Tony Soprano and Don Draper might actually prove that American morality is holding up fairly well. How does Dempsey view Iraq today? Dempsey says that we "provided Iraq with a historic opportunity to be what they wanted to be" -- you know, provided that what they wanted to be was some variation on "burnt to the ground" and "mostly killed." That's compared to an average four hours and 31 minutes each day of TV watching. Daily TV time will actually be down slightly this year, while digital media consumption will be up nearly 16 percent. If you were curious, Netflix and Hulu viewing is considered digital media consumption, so all that binge watching of Mad Men on Netflix is clearly pumping up the digital media averages. But that doesn't mean traditional TV is dead, as CNET points out : " 'It's the second report this week indicating that while people are turning more to digital media options, they aren't necessarily turning away from the traditional means of watching TV and movies. Movie Banned By Censors Becomes a Piracy Hit With Kiwis

Is it any good? Yes, very good if its possible for a movie in the Criterion Collection to be underrated, this one certainly is. When I write Kim Kardashian official about a movie (or hell, even talk about a movie), I try to avoid delving too deeply into spoilers with a movie like Something Wild, even more so. I went in knowing very little besides the cast and basic premise, which kicks off in the first three minutes of the film (not counting credits). The protagonist of Something Wild, Charlie Driggs, makes one small decision in the first scene that changes his life forever in unpredictable ways and theres a thrill in being along with him for the ride and not knowing how deep the rabbit hole goes. And in the final act when things enter more familiar territory structurally as the story starts moving toward conclusion were buoyed through the predictable by our affection for the characters. The three leads are cast perfectly Daniels puts his everyman charm to use; Griffith is sweet, sexy, and steely a prototypical Manic-Pixie-Dream-Girl, but with an actual character arc; and newcomer Liotta is magnetic and terrifying he goes through this movie like the proverbial china shop bull, laying waste and not giving a fuck. By keeping his focus on these characters and performances, Demme is able to ground and balance his disparate tones this is a movie that starts off light-hearted and gets inexorably darker, until actual violence (quite a bit of it) finally occurs.
Source: http://www.chud.com/141476/movie-of-the-day-something-wild-1986/

‘The To Do List,’ movie review

The To Do List is exactly that type of movie, one that thinks a sex-obsessed version of a John Hughes comedy by its very nature is hilarious. Its not, but there are still some things to like here. Audience members with two X chromosomes may find something fresh in first-time writer-director Maggie Careys movie. In 1993 Boise, Idaho, high school valedictorian, math-lete and bossy nerd Brandy ( Aubrey Plaza ) is content being a virgin until she spots Rusty Waters (Scott Porter of Friday Night Lights) at a party. She wants this dude with a Point Break bod and a pointedly blank brain, but is insecure since shes never hooked up. Suddenly Brandys last summer before college is about filling the gaps in her carnal knowledge. Brandy has two gal-pals (Alia Shawkat and Sarah Steele) who cheer her on, a snotty-stupid sister ( Rachel Bilson ) who gives her sex tips, a conservative dad (Clark Gregg) who doesnt want her dating and a mom (Connie Britton) encouraging self-exploration.
Source: http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/tv-movies/list-movie-review-article-1.1407880

MOVIE OF THE DAY: SOMETHING WILD (1986)

I also could have done without the superimposing of text messages on the screen. It distracts from the reality that Coogler is dramatizing, including his decision to shoot the film in actual locations. I also have a hard time buying that characters we had met earlier in the film all show up on same train car with Grant on New Year's Eve. If that really happened, that's some coincidence. Also, what some people call heartbreaking, others call manipulative and exploitive. I'm with the heartbroken crowd. Even the film's sharpest critics praise its cast, especially dress like Kim Kardashian Jordan, whose portrayal of Grant, warts and all, rings true.
Source: http://www.wickedlocal.com/waltham/fun/entertainment/arts/x1808720531/Movie-Review-Fruitville-Station-opts-for-humanizing-approach-to-a-senseless-death

The studio declined to comment. To darken the picture even further, new data from China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television indicates that for the first time in recent history, Hollywood could experience negative growth in the country. During the first six months of the year, films from the United States and other foreign countries accounted for $674.3 million, a 21.3 percent decline from the previous year. "There's a lot of baggage when it comes to China and a lot of instances of people losing a lot of money," a prominent media executive, who declined to be identified because it could jeopardize relationships with Chinese companies, told TheWrap. "There's hesitancy because everybody in the market has been burned at least once." Yet studios must maintain their best poker face. Stephen Schaefer The GI JOE sequel is workmanlike and mostly pedestrian, a B-grade version of THE AVENGERS if you will. But it has its highlights, beginning with an amazing sequence high in Asian mountains where rival teams fight and fly thru the misty air on wires or sheer propulsion. It's a breathtaking moment in a film that all too often settles for the kill people-blow up stuff-kill more scenario, it's almost as if it was dropped in from another movie. Dwayne Johnson's arms have never seemed bigger, it's as if he's a massive special effect all by himself. Stephen Schaefer OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN has resurrected Gerard Butler's box-office standing after a series of flops, giving the Scots actor a well deserved hit with virtually nonstop action that appealed to audiences view who wanted something stronger than the Stone Age family antics of the 3D animated THE CROODS. Butler was in high spirits when we spoke at the Waldorf Towers, gesturing as he spoke about the demands of making screen action look realistic and yet letting the actor go on without serious bodily harm to another cinematic save in the future. Stephen Schaefer Coincidentally, Ive just seen two films where a murderer goes free. Its just two but you wonder: Is this a look at something larger? With America debating once again gun control is there a connection in what a few films tackle with a societal issue or is it simply coincidence? Stephen Schaefer First Nicholas Hoult was the gawkily endearing zombie of WARM BODIES, February's sleeper hit, and now he leads the way as the brave and lucky farmhand Jack in the truly fun and often funny JACK THE GIANT SLAYER. Hoult sat down for a one on one interview at Englands legendary Hampton Court Palace, an hour out of London, where Bryan Singers 3D adventure filmed. While waiting to see Hoult I took the tour, learned the difference between a castle which is used for defense http://jeromyvylb.blogs.experienceproject.com/1861671.html and has a drawbridge and one entrance and a palace, like this, which is where the King, namely Stephen Schaefer Ben Affleck was so low-key, humble and sweetly generous about his various wins during this entire awards season, you might more? info… say the best thing that could have happened to him was getting snubbed by the Academy Awards as a Best Director nominee, for until then it looked a lock for LINCOLN as Best Picture.
